From former Moloko singer Roisin Murphy comes this video for "Overpowered," her newest single. Directed by Jamie Thraves, and featuring Murphy, the video's real star is an over-the-top checkered haute couture outfit with an accompanying plastic hat. As Murphy leaves her concert, sidling down a grimy alleyway and boarding the bus, the get-up becomes a ridiculous counterpoint to her grimy surroundings -- and a subtle metaphor for fame, femininity and pop-star narcissism.
