If you suspect that, with more support and encouragement, you would have been a concert pianist instead of a customer relations specialist, then tune in for "Rehearsing a Dream" (7 p.m. EDT on Cinemax). The Oscar-nominated short documentary follows some of the country's most talented 17-year-olds as they spend a week at the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, studying under well-known artists and performers like Mikhail Baryshnikov and Vanessa Williams. (Maybe Williams teaches a crash course in Scandal Management and Recovery?) Seeing these kids connect with one another and gain confidence in their unique talents is undeniably moving. "There's hope for our generation," one participant tells the camera, almost breathlessly. "We don't all want to play football and be in videos."

Biography debuts an hour-long look at the twisty-turny life of Tina Turner at 9 p.m. EDT. And at 10 p.m. EDT, AMC airs the fourth episode of its deliciously wicked summer hit about the Madison Avenue ad industry in the 1960s, "Mad Men." (Watch a sneak peak of Thursday's episode here. And read an interesting interview with the show's creator, "Sopranos" veteran Matthew Weiner, here.)
