Kirk, Spock and the crew fly again in nightly reruns of Star Trek: Special Edition (7:30 p.m. EDT/8:30 PDT, Sci Fi Channel), which unspools the original episodes of the series in the order they were broadcast 30 years ago, with all the parts that were cut for syndication restored. It begins with Episode One, "The Man Trap." On Oliver Sacks: Mind Traveler (check local times, PBS), the neurologist visits a South Pacific atoll where most of the people are color blind.

A sea demon menaces Sunnydale on a rerun of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (8 p.m., WB). King of the Hill (8 p.m., Fox) reruns last season's cliffhanger finale in which Hank's protest against Mega Lo Mart turns explosive. Nickelodeon expands its prime time kids' programming with two new series. The Wild Thornberrys (8 p.m., Nickelodeon) is the latest animated series from Klasky-Csupo, the animation house responsible for "Rugrats." Lacey Chabert from "Party of Five" provides the voice for Eliza Thornberry, who can talk to animals, in this comedy about a family that travels the world making nature documentaries. Nick's other new show, Cousin Skeeter (8:30 p.m.), is a sitcom about a shy kid with an irrepressible cousin. The kid is human; Skeeter is a puppet whose voice is provided by comedian Bill Bellamy. Dateline NBC (10 p.m., NBC) analyzes -- drum roll, please -- the People Magazine "Best and Worst Dressed" list. BIOrhythm (10:30 p.m., MTV) profiles Princess Diana in pictures and music.
