S E R I E S

Bobby marks a rite of passage -- his first hunting trip -- on a new King of the Hill (8 p.m., Fox). Buffy the Vampire Slayer (8 p.m., WB) repeats the one where runaway Buffy falls into the clutches of a demon who preys on homeless teens. Felicity (9 p.m., WB) is a rerun, too; it's the one where she goes to her first college party and is humiliated in front of the whole dorm. NYPD Blue (10 p.m., ABC) begins the Rick Schroder era. Schroder joins the cast as Detective Danny Sorenson, a hot-headed transfer from narcotics who is partnered with the grieving Sipowicz. If you saw last week's episode, you're probably still haunted by it. A lot of shows claim to be about life and death, but this one really was. Simone's passing was neither maudlin nor manipulative; it was a moving and dignified end to a life well lived. Is Jimmy Smits replaceable? Let's put it this way -- I wouldn't want to be in Rick Schroder's shoes.

The miniseries History's Lost and Found (9 p.m. EST/10 PST, A&E) examines artifacts both significant and odd. Did you know that Einstein's brain was not buried with his body?
