SALON'S TV PICKS FOR
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24, 1999
BY JOYCE MILLMAN

S E R I E S

On a rerun of Dawson's Creek (8 p.m., WB), Jen catches Dawson on the rebound after Joey gets cozy with Jack (if she only knew) at the Homecoming Dance. The new sitcom It's like, you know ... (8:30 p.m., ABC) takes the "Seinfeld" set-up and moves it to L.A. Former "Seinfeld" writer Peter Mehlman ("The Sponge," "The Yada Yada") created this chuckleworthy series about life in the City of Angels, as experienced by four kooky residents and one visiting New Yorker. Chris Eigeman and Jennifer Grey are among the stars. On a new episode of The Drew Carey Show (9 p.m., ABC), Drew thinks his cross-dressing brother has fallen for Mimi. The new sitcom The Norm Show (9:30 p.m., ABC) stars former "Saturday Night Live" bad boy Norm Macdonald as a snide former hockey player starting a new career as a social worker. Laurie Metcalf plays his put upon co-worker. Law & Order (10 p.m., NBC) has a new episode about the murder of a cop involved in an abusive relationship. On Chicago Hope (10 p.m., CBS), Austin fumes when a famous heart surgeon (guest Richard Crenna) treats her as condescendingly as he did when she was his student. The comedy series Tenacious D (11 p.m., HBO) begins a new season. Jack Black and Kyle Gass play "Tenacious D," a very bad, and very deluded, rock duo.
