The documentary Frank Capra's American Dream (7 p.m., American Movie Classics), narrated by Ron Howard, looks at the life and career of the director who made "It Happened One Night," "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" and "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town." Capra's Academy Award-winning 1938 comedy You Can't Take it With You (8:35 p.m.) follows. Nicole Kidman stars as a sociopath who wants to be a TV star in the 1995 satire To Die For (8 p.m., Fox). Matt Dillon co-stars.
Nova (check local times, PBS) presents "Warnings from the Ice," a report on the potential for disaster from the melting of the polar ice cap. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (8 p.m., WB) reruns the conclusion of the pivotal two-parter in which Buffy faces the consequences of her night with Angel. On a new Frasier (9 p.m., NBC), the doc can't get enough of a much younger woman. Bryant Gumbel (9 p.m., CBS) look at male menopause. 48 Hours (10 p.m., CBS) airs a compilation of past reports on violent youths and efforts to reform them.
