In the new TV movie Legion of Fire: Killer Ants! (8 p.m., Fox) (this is not a joke), the awakening of a dormant volcano sends an army of savage pests swarming into a small Alaska town. Starring Eric Lutes, Jennifer Campbell and Mitch ("The X-Files") Pileggi. No ants are on hand to torment Stockard Channing in the new cable movie An Unexpected Life (9 p.m., USA), but she's got problems all the same. She plays a New York editor who has had to take custody of her sister's kids, and then she finds out she's pregnant. Co-starring Stephen Collins, RuPaul (not in drag) and Elaine Stritch (possibly in drag).

On the first of two reruns of 3rd Rock from the Sun (8 p.m., NBC), an injury lands Dick in a wheelchair. In the second (9 p.m.), Sally clashes with her new boyfriend's mother (guest Naomi Judd). NewsRadio (8:30 p.m., NBC) reruns the episode where Catherine (former cast member Khandi Alexander) resigns. On a rerun of Chicago Hope (10 p.m., CBS), Kronk treats a pedophile who wants to be castrated and Grad has to tell a teenager she's HIV-positive. Homicide: Life on the Street (10 p.m., NBC) reruns the continuation of the crossover episode with "Law & Order," which finds the detectives from both shows working the murder of a teenage model.
