Runaway bus! Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock can't put the brakes on, or else they'll blow up, in the 1994 thriller Speed (7:30 p.m., Fox). In the new three-hour documentary Plane Crazy (check local times, PBS), Bob Cringely is on a quest to design, build and fly a plane in 30 days. Craig Kilborn anchors the Daily Show Second Anniversary Special (11 p.m., Comedy Central), a look back at highlights from the past season.


S E R I E S

Harry runs for city council against a sleazy opponent (Al Franken) on a rerun of 3rd Rock from the Sun (9 p.m., NBC). Ellen (9:30 p.m., ABC) was supposed to have had its final episode back in May, but tonight is the real finale, a never-aired episode in which Ellen and Laurie contemplate marriage as Ellen's parents renew their wedding vows. On a rerun of Law & Order (10 p.m., NBC), a mob lawyer insists his client, a mafia don charged in a hit man's murder, is mentally unstable. PrimeTime Live (10 p.m., ABC) reruns a hidden-camera segment uncovering scams perpetrated on jewelry buyers and a report on gender identity.
