The Ennui and the Ecstasy Next Stop, Hollywood Sharps & Flats Home Movies Monicagate: The movie |
On Part 3 of the four-part series Oliver Sacks: Mind Traveller (check local times, PBS), the famed neurologist looks at autism, profiling an autistic artist. Shannen Doherty and Joshua "Pacey" Jackson host Seventeen: The Faces for Fall (9 p.m., WB), showcasing the season's hot music, fashions, movies and TV shows (especially TV shows airing on WB).
Merv Griffin is the subject of a new Biography (8 p.m. EDT/9 PDT, A&E). King of the Hill (8 p.m., Fox) is scheduled to have its season premiere, in which we're supposed to learn whether Hank survived (duh) the Mega Lo Mart propane explosion. However, if either Mark McGwire or Sammy Sosa has a chance of breaking Roger Maris' home run record tonight, Fox will postpone the "King" opener, as well as the premiere of the new sitcom Costello (8:30 p.m., Fox), starring Boston comedienne Sue Costello as a blue-collar bartender with big dreams. Instead, Fox will air the Cubs-Cardinals game in prime time. (If McGwire or Sosa broke the record before tonight, the game will air on Fox's cable outlet, FX.) On a rerun of Dawson's Creek (8 p.m., WB), Dawson, Pacey and Billy have a wild night, while Jen tries to salvage Joey's reputation.
