In Garth Brooks: Double Live (8 p.m., NBC), the singer does a different live broadcast for each time zone, consisting of a question-and-answer session with fans and concert videos of tunes from his new release, "Double Live." In other words, a commercial.

S E R I E S

Prodigal son Luke Perry returns to the cast of Beverly Hills 90210 (8 p.m., Fox) tonight. His character, Dylan, now approximately 47 years old, shows up unannounced after taking some time off for soul searching after his wife was killed in a mob hit. Former "General Hospital" star Vanessa Marcil also joins the cast as Donna's cousin, a troubled ice skater. Meanwhile, over on Dawson's Creek (8 p.m., WB), the gang pulls an all-nighter to cram for a big English test, but, not surprisingly, nobody gets much studying done. The American Experience (check local times, PBS) opens its 11th season with "America 1900," a look at the events, personalities and problems at our last turn of the century. Charlie fears Owen has been abducted when he loses him at the mall on Thanksgiving on Party of Five (9 p.m., Fox). The Drew Carey Show (9 p.m., ABC) airs an episode shot on location in China (!) in which Mimi engineers a prank that leaves Drew penniless with no passport at the Great Wall. Maybe this is some sort of TV star cultural exchange program -- they gave us Sammo Hung, we give them Carey. Another "Drew Carey" follows (9:30 p.m.); this one's a clip show of the series' big musical numbers. On Chicago Hope (10 p.m., CBS), the doctors find themselves facing trial by TV when an actor dies accidentally in the emergency room.
