If there was one thing missing from the Great Reality TV Wars of the early 21st century, it was the opportunity to shout, loudly and directly, at some of the people who appeared in them.
The Fox network, with "Boot Camp," has finally made that dream come true, as four true-to-life Marine drill sergeants abuse 16 contestants-cum-recruits over the next eight weeks.
The premise sees the 16 recruits go through a 30-day boot camp ordeal at an undisclosed military base. They must follow orders and accomplish challenges, "Survivor" style, to win perks (like an extra hour of sleep) and amnesty from the weekly ejection of one recruit.
In an evil twist, "Boot Camp" allows the bootee each week to take someone with him or her. The last recruit standing takes home $500,000.
