Weaver finds out the real reason Dr. Lawrence (Alan Alda) left his last position on a rerun of ER (10 p.m., NBC). The new drama series Wonderland (10 p.m., ABC) premieres. Actor-producer Peter Berg (formerly of "Chicago Hope") created (but doesn't appear in) this series about the staff of a New York hospital's psychiatric unit. Michelle Forbes ("Homicide") and Martin Donovan head the cast. Specials The documentary Cancer: Evolution to Revolution (8 p.m., HBO) looks at advances in medical efforts to fight the disease and provides advice on prevention, detection and treatment options. The 1996 comedy The Cable Guy (8 p.m., Fox) has its first network showing. Jim Carrey plays a psychotic cable installer who stalks nice guy Matthew Broderick. The reviews were unkind but it's really not bad, especially the faux cable programming interludes provided by Ben Stiller, and a medieval restaurant interlude with Janeane Garofalo.
