Twenty-six hopefuls participate in a dance and voice workshop, but only 20 make the cut, on Popstars (8:30 p.m. Fri., WB). David Boreanaz and Sisqo guest on Mad TV (11 p.m. Sat., Fox). Hank is shocked to learn that he is not a native Texan on King of the Hill (7:30 p.m. Sun., Fox). Bart and Milhouse see the softer side of Comic Book Guy on The Simpsons (8 p.m. Sun., Fox). On Touched by an Angel (8 p.m. Sun., CBS), a white police officer (Scott Baio) accidentally shoots an African-American boy, sparking community outrage. Hal quits his job to become an artist on Malcolm in the Middle (8:30 p.m. Sun., Fox). Huey Lewis used to be in the news; now he's on Behind the Music (9 p.m. Sun., VH1). On The X-Files (9 p.m. Sun., Fox), a case that Mulder investigated but kept secret from Scully comes to light. Bobby fears the worst as he stands trial for complicity in the murder of William Hinks on The Practice (10 p.m. Sun., ABC).

Specials

The new cable movie Dancing in September (9 p.m. Sat., HBO) is a drama about the TV industry's perpetuation of racial stereotypes. Nicole Ari Parker stars as an African-American TV show writer who tires of playing the game. Directed by Reggie Rock Bythewood. Gregory Hines has the title role in the new cable movie Bojangles (8 p.m. Sun., Showtime), a bio of legendary dancer Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. The new TV movie The Flamingo Rising (9 p.m. Sun., CBS) stars Brian Benben as the life-lovin' proprietor of a Florida drive-in movie theater and William Hurt as the emotionally dead director of the funeral parlor across the street. This Hallmark Hall of Fame movie kinda writes itself, doesn't it?
