CSI (9 p.m. Fri., CBS) returns to its old time slot with a bonus rerun; it's the one where a woman's body found in a supermarket restroom appears to be the work of a serial killer. Tom Green and Green Day -- hey, a theme show! -- guest on Mad TV (11 p.m. Sat., Fox). Saturday Night Live (11:30 p.m. Sat., NBC) has a "Best of Molly Shannon" clip show. A three-episode Simpsons marathon (7 p.m. Sun., Fox) begins with two reruns (Homer builds a tennis court; Sideshow Bob hypnotizes Bart to kill Krusty), then airs a new episode in the regular 8 p.m. slot. Valerie Bertinelli returns to TV as a new cast member of Touched by an Angel (8 p.m. Sun., CBS). The episode also features Annabella Sciorra, last seen boffing Tony Soprano in the Garden of Eden, as a scientist intent on successfully cloning a human. The angels don't think that's a good idea. On The X-Files (9 p.m. Sun., Fox), Mulder and Doggett investigate the mysterious deaths of two oil rig workers, which seems to be the work of the black oil (remember that?). Christmas on The Sopranos (9 p.m. Sun., HBO) just isn't the same without Pussy around to wear the Santa suit.

The Bee Gees chirp all the old faves in Live by Request (9 p.m. Fri., A&E). Billy Crystal directs 61* (9 p.m. Sat., HBO), the story of the race between the Yankees' Mickey Mantle (Thomas Jane) and Roger Maris (Barry Pepper) to break Babe Ruth's home run record. Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer take the Katharine Hepburn and Henry Fonda roles in a remake of On Golden Pond (9 p.m. Sun., CBS). Anna Deavere Smith's acclaimed one-woman play Twilight: Los Angeles (9 p.m. Sun., PBS, check local listings) explores the 1992 Rodney King riots from the perspective of a diverse group of Los Angelenos. Lisa Abelow Hedley's documentary Dwarfs: Not a Fairy Tale (10 p.m. Sun., HBO) profiles people of small stature in all walks of life.
