Note: Regular prime-time network programming may be preempted for coverage of the scheduled execution of Timothy McVeigh.
Becoming (5 p.m., MTV) is a new series in which fans "become" their idols in video re-creations -- otherwise known as visual karaoke. In the first episode, twin sisters share the lead in a remake of J.Lo's "Love Don't Cost a Thing." Contestants face their deepest phobias -- stuff like heights, rats, deep water -- in the sadistic new reality series Fear Factor (8 p.m., NBC) from the producers of "Big Brother." The winner gets a paltry $50,000. "TV Dads Week" at Biography (8 p.m., A&E) kicks off with a profile of secretly gay "Brady Bunch" pop Robert Reed. Marie brings Robert's most recent ex-girlfriends together on a rerun of Everybody Loves Raymond (9 p.m., CBS). Angel (9 p.m., WB) reruns the one where Angel and the Host search for a missing physicist who has developed a formula for stopping time.
