Chevy Chase does Mel -- or is it Borat?

 "Law & Order" rips a Mad Mel moment from the headlines.

Nov. 06, 2006 | The "Law & Order" franchise, often criticized for stories stolen too directly from reality, left no doubt in its Friday episode that it was spoofing Mel Gibson the minute the drunken celebrity arrested for DUI called the lady cop "sugar tits." But the casting of Chevy Chase in the Gibson role, to us at least, seemed a little unfortunate. Maybe we've seen too many "Vacation" movies to ever buy him in this sort of dramatic role, but when he harangues the Jewish cop in an anti-Semitic tirade, his acting is so broad it seemed slightly ludicrous, like a really angry Borat.
