internship mania
Welcome to our ever-expanding list of media internships offering up-to-date
information about newspaper, new media, magazine, and broadcasting
opportunities across the nation.
ABOUT THESE LISTINGS:
These listings do not always contain comprehensive information for
applying. Refer to the contact information for stipulations about
clips and work-sample format. Be extremely judicious with any phone calls you
make to the person hiring interns. Figure out exactly what your questions
are (about stipulations, duties and application materials) before you call.
Better yet, use e-mail if that's an option; generally, it's a less
intrusive way of getting your questions answered.
If you have questions about the organizations and would like
outsider perspectives, join the internship discussion in
Table
Talk. If you'd like to post an internship or have a story to share, e-mail us. We'll be on the lookout for stories and story ideas about the pleasures and pitfalls of being
an intern.

The work areas are extremely diverse, including talent, graphic design, sales, production, news, script writing, animation, public relations, programming and online content development. Most of the work is clerical and errand-running, "not too hands on" according to the internship coordinator, but it does provide students with little previous experience the opportunity to observe the professional inner workings of a major network.
