_______________IS KACZYNSKI CRAZY ENOUGH TO BE SAVED? BY ROS DAVIDSON (01/05/98)

Ted Kaczynski's defense team would have the jury believe that their client is a paranoid schizophrenic since he believes he is controlled by a mysterious group of people and since he does not trust mental health professionals. Amazingly enough, however, Mr. Kaczynski had seen fit to trust lawyers to defend him! This does not at all conform with the behavior of schizophrenics! One need only think back to Colin Ferguson, who insisted on defending himself after mowing down a number of commuters on a New York train.
I think Mr. Kaczynski should get the death penalty. Society has had more than enough of lawyers making the kind of ridiculous and insulting arguments expected to be used in this case. We need not look deep to see through the nonsense that will be offered. This man was sane enough to understand that his bombs would kill others while taking very cautious steps to protect his own life. That's sane enough.

I just wanted to inform you that David Horowitz's columns are so very refreshing. Irreparable damage is being done to the moral fiber of this country by the current left, which seems hell bent to continue practicing double standards. When is enough enough?
I guarantee you that none of my ancestors ever owned slaves, yet intellectually I am supposed to accept a notion that it is constitutional to ignore "the content of one's character" and select employees solely based on race. There is no place for bigots in this country, but is there a bigger bigot in America than one who tells another who they have to hire because of race? David Horowitz: Keep opening America's eyes; they need it!
