Amen I say to your righteously angry editorial attacking the petulant WSJ. I think you go too easy on them when you suggest that their editorial board has been taken over by the right. When, oh when, did the WSJ not stand on the right? Maybe they've had more tact in the past, though I prefer their current neanderthalish right-wing slant.

Your journal is a welcome sight, an oasis in the barren sea that is the Web, and I hit it whenever I'm browsing. Please oh please dump David Horowitz; that guy is really wacko. He's a former power-mad Stalinist come power-mad Pinochetist.

-- Edward Brinson

Thank you for the very enlightening articles on the far right's investigation of President Clinton. You have performed an invaluable service to the American public.

We knew what was happening by reading between the lines of reports from the national press. But we were not aware of the details because apparently the ultra-conservatives have managed to take over some of the nation's formerly reliable news sources.

What a shame to see the venerable New York Times, Washington Post, and Newsweek reach the level of the National Enquirer! We can no longer trust their veracity, and only read them now to learn what the enemy is doing and planning.

We watched you on "Rivera Live"! You did a fine job standing up to the onslaught of the representatives from the right. Salon now has them running scared. Next time be more forceful, however. The Heritage Foundation's daily "talking points" and training makes these people verbal bullies. An article on the Heritage Foundation would also be appreciated. Its adherents apparently think the public is so dumb that we don't know that the Foundation scripts the major points articulated by conservative representatives on the talk shows.

I cannot believe the Wall Street Journal is willing to publish such trash on its editorial page. You continually project the message that Clinton's defenders can do no right, while his detractors can do no wrong. Is the Wall Street Journal as blind as Ken Starr to the obvious conflicts of interest that permeate the charges continually emanating from the president's attackers?

-- Nathan Brookwood

That was an exceptional editorial by David Talbot. Don't let the conservatives scare your good investigative reporters. They are doing a great job. I think your Salon is the only newspaper in the country that reports the facts, not biased opinions.
