There was no safe place for Morna McHargue's diary, as she painfully found out in "My mother, my diary." Not wedged behind the water heater, not under the mattress, not shoved in the ceiling above. Her mother would stop at nothing to find her daughter's diary, read it and then, in a Joan Crawfordesque low, share it with the whole family over canned spaghetti.
