Acceptance Speech
CAROL ORMANDY

Applause-o-meter

Gosh. I'm almost speechless. It is not surprising that I could win any contest named Drama Queen -- I have had dramatic fever since childhood -- or is that obvious from the story?

This story was one of those secrets I thought I'd never tell anyone, especially not my father, not to mention my son Jody and nephew Jesse, who both said they'd never look at the shed -- their childhood playhouse at grandma's -- in quite the same way.

So now this secret is out and I'm delighted to be a winner. My only regret is tossing the Allerest bottle when the donor died, but I was flattered when Jim Croce wrote the song for me: "If I Could Save Time in a Bottle." So, as Elvis would mumble, "Thankyouverymuch, thankyouverymuch."
