"Choose Pre-emptive First Strike Doctrine"

Perhaps not as pithy as "Choose Life," but this Kentucky legislator's point is taken.

Just in over the Legislators We Love wire: Whether or not you get exercised over this particular means of political expression, please enjoy Kentucky state Rep. Mary Lou Marzian's suggested edits to the "Choose Life" license plate proposal recently passed in her state:

HFA (3, M. Marzian) -- Retain original provisions except delete all references to a voluntary fund and delete Section 2; change "Choose Life" to "Choose Senior Prescription Drug Medicare Benefit" and specify that a "Choose Senior Prescription Drug Medicare Benefit" license plate bear the likeness of the symbol of prescription drugs as "Rx."

HFA (4, M. Marzian) -- Retain original provisions except delete all references to a voluntary fund and delete Section 2; change "Choose Life" to "Choose An Increase in the Cigarette Tax Instead of Cuts to Human Services" and specify that a "Choose An Increase in the Cigarette Tax Instead of Cuts to Human Services" license plate bear the likeness of a wheelchair.

HFA (5, M. Marzian) -- Retain original provisions except delete all references to a voluntary fund and delete Section 2; change "Choose Life" to "Choose Gambling" and specify that a "Choose Gambling" license plate bear the likeness of a slot machine.

HFA (6, M. Marzian) -- Retain original provisions except delete all references to a voluntary fund and delete Section 2; change "Choose Life" to "Peace is Patriotic" and specify that a "Peace is Patriotic" license plate bear the likeness of a dove.

HFA (7, M. Marzian) -- Retain original provisions except delete all references to a voluntary fund and delete Section 2; change "Choose Life" to "Choose Pre-Emptive First Strike Doctrine" and specify that a "Choose Pre-Emptive First Strike Doctrine" license plate bear the likeness of a cruise missile.

HFA (8, M. Marzian) -- Retain original provisions except delete all references to a voluntary fund and delete Section 2; change "Choose Life" to "Choose No Death Penalty" and specify that a "Choose No Death Penalty" license plate bear the likeness of an electric chair with a red circle and red "X" superimposed on the electric chair.

HFA (9, M. Marzian) -- Retain original provisions except delete all references to a voluntary fund and delete Section 2; change "Choose Life" to "Choose Corruption by Special Interest Money" and specify that a "Choose Corruption by Special Interest Money" license plate bear the likeness of a dollar sign superimposed on the Capitol Dome.

Rep. Marzian's 2005 proposal to create a "Love Makes a Family" license plate remains in committee.
