Do I hear $1M for the virgin?

Rush and Molloy report that Howard Stern is at it again -- the King of All Media is going to "shock again" with yet another radical stunt! Funny, because when I read the news that he's auctioning off a girl's virginity on his show, I sighed and thought: Hasn't he learned any new tricks?

In a familiar narrative, 22-year-old Natalie Dylan -- a pseudonym -- says she's selling her virginity to pay for her college tuition. Dylan has already received her bachelor's degree in women's studies at Sacramento State and now wants to pursue a master's in marriage and family therapy, but is in financial straits. She found inspiration in the story of a Peruvian woman who offered up her virginity to pay for her sick mother's medical bills. "I don't have a moral dilemma with it," says Dylan. "We live in a capitalist society. Why shouldn't I be allowed to capitalize on my virginity?" The sale will be finalized at Nevada's Moonlite Bunny Ranch, a licensed brothel.

Interestingly enough, Dylan isn't settling for the highest bidder -- she's picking someone with cash and "chemistry." Dylan says, "We'll take bids until I find a suitor I'm happy with." It's prostitution, no doubt, but a romanticized version where clients are vetted like suitors on Match.com.

Update: As it turns out, Stern had Dylan on his show today, but did not "kick off" the auction as reported by Rush and Molloy. The auction is being conducted entirely separate of Stern on bunnyranch.com.
