Is Giuliani's daughter an Obama supporter?

Published August 6, 2007 8:57PM (EDT)

Rudy Giuliani is talking up adoption in Iowa today. He may be wishing, at least for a moment, that he'd considered the practice for himself. "America's Mayor" is said to have a strained relationship with his kids from the second of his three marriages, and the private unhappiness spilled into the public today, with Slate reporting that 17-year-old Caroline Giuliani's Facebook page suggests that she's backing Barack Obama for the White House.

Well, it did, anyway. The young Giuliani withdrew from the Obama group early this morning after Slate tried to contact her about her membership in it.

Caroline may be the first of the Giuliani children to issue a quasi endorsement of someone else for president, but she isn't the first to express something less than enthusiasm for her father's candidacy. Caroline's brother, Andrew Giuliani, told the New York Times earlier this year that he wouldn't have time to help out with his father's presidential bid because he's too busy trying to be a professional golfer.
