Jul. 17, 2006 | According to the Washington Times, U.S. war commanders who gathered for a closed-door conference in Fort Carson, Colo., earlier this year believe that "some level of American forces will be needed in Iraq until 2016." In the same story, the Times says that the commanders complained that the U.S. news media is ignoring progress in Iraq.
