Give this much to John McCain: At least he can already look back at the drubbing he took last November and laugh. During a question-and-answer session following a speech he gave at the Heritage Foundation today, he had this to say about the election:

Over 50 million people voted for me and Sarah Palin -- mostly for Sarah Palin.

Pardon me for borrowing an old, overused phrase, but, well, it's funny because it's true.
