Ninety Iraqis, nine Americans dead in blasts
As George W. Bush prepares to tell the American Legion about all the early signs that the escalation of the war in Iraq is working, rescue workers are sorting through the dead and wounded in Hillah, where two suicide bombers killed as many as 90 people this morning. More than 150 people were injured in the blasts.
Nine U.S. soldiers were killed today in two separate bombing attacks north of Baghdad. The U.S. death toll for the war is now approaching 3,200.
