DNC won't give official stamp to debate on Fox

The Congressional Black Caucus can still host a Democratic presidential debate on Fox -- but it won't be sanctioned by the party.

The debate over the Fox News Channel, and whether it will host a Democratic presidential debate, is apparently not over yet.

On March 29, the Congressional Black Caucus announced that one of the two presidential debates it's sponsoring this election cycle will be held on Fox. That announcement came after the Nevada Democratic Party backed out of the debate it had agreed to host with Fox after pressure from party activists and bloggers.

But today, the Democratic National Committee announced that it would give its blessing to six debates among candidates for the Democratic nomination; not included in that total, reports Ben Smith of the Politico, is the CBC debate. Smith attributes this to "an increasingly unified Democratic effort to marginalize" Fox News.
