Arkansas called for Clinton, Huckabee

The networks didn't hesitate to call the state for the two candidates with deep roots there.

At 8:30 p.m. EST, polls in Arkansas closed. That state is important as a home base for one candidate on each side of the race. Mike Huckabee is the former governor there, and obviously Hillary Clinton was first lady there when her husband, Bill, was governor.

So it's no surprise -- as soon as the polls closed, the networks projected Huckabee and Clinton as the winners in their respective races.
