Washington state Dems agree to change "Sopranos" ad

The Washington state Democratic Party apologized and agreed to change an attack ad against Republican gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi after the Italian Club of Seattle complained about the spot, which features the theme song from "The Sopranos."

A spokeswoman for the party says the video wasn't intended to imply that Rossi is connected to the Mafia, the subject of the hit show. But if the connections implied are inadvertent, it's one hell of a coincidence, considering the photo of Rossi shown in the ad as well as his Italian heritage and the lobbying group also attacked in the ad, the Building Industry Association of Washington. (The particular mob families depicted in "The Sopranos" often ran construction projects.)
