On the day Clinton might speak at the convention, her backers plan to rally for her and for putting her name in nomination.

The die-hards still hoping for some kind of miracle that results in Hillary Clinton becoming the Democratic nominee for president aren't going away just yet. In fact, they'll be making their presence very much known at the Democratic National Convention in Denver later this month.

The Rocky Mountain News reports that a group of Clinton supporters has secured a parade permit for Aug. 26, which is both the day that Clinton will reportedly be speaking at the convention and the 88th anniversary of women's suffrage. They'll also be holding a rally that day.

Katherine Vincent, who's organizing the parade and rally, told the RMN that she hopes Clinton herself will attend, and that the rally will be about Clinton, not about attacking Barack Obama.

Of course, even if the rally itself doesn't officially condone anti-Obama statements, given the tenor of the discourse on some of the PUMA Web sites, it seems unlikely that those attending the rally will refrain from attacking the presumptive nominee. And Vincent says she wants to see Clinton's name put into nomination at the convention -- if that's a topic at the rally, it's bound to lead to some heated anti-Obama rhetoric.
