The National Enquirer responds

The paper, which broke the story of John Edwards' affair, is definitely taking the moment to gloat.

As I said in a post I wrote in July about the reports of John Edwards' affair with Rielle Hunter, the National Enquirer's reporting gets a lot less credit than it should.

That said, however, I never said that the Enquirer, like any tabloid worth its salt, doesn't take the opportunity to kick its opponents when they're down. That's what the paper did on Friday, shortly after the news that Edwards has admitted to his affair broke.

In its reaction piece, the Enquirer said:

As far as being the father of Hunter's love child, you might as well go all the way now, Johnny Boy.

Submit to a DNA test.

By the way what was it you said about The ENQUIRER's journalistic chops when the main stream media was silent until we gave them more than a smoking gun by dropping a bomb on August 6?

Oh yeah -- "Tabloid Trash."
