Report: Obama camp moving staff out of Michigan

The Atlantic's Marc Ambinder reports that the Obama camp plans to move field staffers from Michigan to states like Indiana and North Carolina.

Unlike the McCain campaign's own move out of Michigan, this doesn't look like a retreat. In fact, it's an offensive. With John McCain having given up on Michigan, the Obama campaign can afford to divert resources from the state -- which went for John Kerry in 2004 -- to states like Indiana and North Carolina, both of which voted for George W. Bush that year, and try to turn them from red to blue, or at the very least force McCain to play defense (and spend money) in states he would have hoped were safe.
