We'll all miss Alan Colmes, whose time as co-host of Fox News' "Hannity and Colmes" is coming to an end. But don't worry -- this is FNC, and they're fair and balanced. So on Monday, the first episode of the show without Colmes, there'll be another liberal there to take whatever insults Sean Hannity has to dish out: Al Sharpton.
It really is amazing how predictable this sort of thing is. Back in 2007, I wrote an article about the "Fox News Democrats," the Democrats has on as contributors and regular guests. In it, I pointed out that most of them can be put into one of three categories: loser, scary liberal or enabler. Colmes, of course, was the classic enabler, while for the network's exceedingly conservative audience there aren't many people scarier than Sharpton. And that's the spectrum of liberal thought represented. Admittedly, things might get better; the show will now feature a rotating panel, and so there might be other Democrats on there who don't fall into one of these categories. But I wouldn't hold my breath waiting.
