No more pardons coming?

President Bush has almost 24 hours of pardon power left, but the White House says he's done exercising it.

Just noticed an interesting bit of information tucked into the Associated Press' story on President Bush commuting the sentences of Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos: "Bush technically has until noon on Tuesday when President-elect Barack Obama is sworn into office to exercise his executive pardon authority, but presidential advisers said no more were forthcoming."

If true, of course, that means none of the high-profile pardons some people had been expecting. We'll know for sure by Tuesday afternoon.
