Jenna Bush -- engaged!

Will the White House's first daughter join the alleged bridal voting bloc?

Published August 16, 2007 9:25PM (EDT)

Just when we had been contemplating the mystifying concept of a bridal voting bloc comes this bit of news from the White House: One of the first daughters is tying the knot, and -- gasp! -- she's marrying a Republican.

Jenna is the Bush twin perhaps best known for her underage drinking, alleged pot smoking and sorry attempt to get away with buying alcohol with a fake I.D., even though she's the president's daughter.

The White House announced today that Jenna, 25, is now engaged to her longtime boyfriend, one Henry Hager, 28, a former White House aide who used to work for none other than Karl Rove. The groom, whose dad is chairman of the Virginia Republican Party, is now pursuing his MBA at the University of Virginia, according to the Associated Press. There's no word from the White House on the when and where of the wedding. We trust Brides Decide will keep us posted.
