Killer Lineup: James Carville And Anne Rice

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, JULY 29, 1996 | SALON presents exclusive weekly diaries by two best-selling blood-thirsty authors, James Carville and Anne Rice.

Carville, Senior Political Adviser to President Clinton and author of "We're Right, They're Wrong", will pen candid columns on the personalities, hot-button issues and strategic ins and outs of Campaign '96. You'll also find him chatting in SALON's Table Talk conversation area, where he is sure to provoke hot and heavy debates.

Mary Matalin, Carville's wife and deputy campaign manager for George Bush in '92, will join the fray in SALON by writing a monthly column, pointing out in no uncertain terms where she believes her husband is full of it.

Turning from politics to the paranormal, SALON will also feature the online diary of Anne Rice as she tours America by motorcoach to sign copies of her latest novel, "Servant of the Bones". Rice, perhaps best known for her extremely popular Vampire Chronicles, has written this time about a witty Babylonian genie who mysteriously finds himself in Manhattan. SALON readers will be privy to Rice's innermost thoughts as she travels cross-country: "Being online for the first time is very seductive," says the author.

Readers will also be able to post questions for Ms. Rice, as well as join a "Cinderella" contest, in which entrants are asked to rewrite a part of the tale in the style of Anne Rice. The winner will enjoy round-trip airfare for two to New Orleans and an overnight stay in one of the Rice properties.

SALON is the highly-acclaimed Internet magazine of books, arts and ideas sponsored by Adobe Systems, Apple Computer and Borders Books & Music.
