Susie Bright's "Sexpert Opinion" Debuts On Award-Winning Salon

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, JULY 3, 1997 | Salon the acclaimed online magazine, is proud to announce the addition of Susie Bright to its roster of columnists. Hailed as "the voice of sweet reason and literacy" by the New York Times Book Review, Susie Bright's new column, "Sexpert Opinion," will appear every other Friday in Salon.

"Despite its name, Susie's column is less about sex advice than it is about sexual controversies and debates, from censorship battles to gender wars. Her column promises to be sexually honest, no taboo is sacred," said David Talbot, founder, editor and CEO of Salon.

Susie Bright is an author, editor, activist, performer and mother. Through her books, lectures and film shows, she has inspired a new public discussion on eroticism and sexual politics, particularly in the areas of changing roles of women and men, sexual liberation and erotic identity in the '90s. She is the author of "Susie Bright's Sexual State of the Union" (Simon & Schuster, 1997), "SexWise" (Cleis Press, 1995), "Susie Bright's Sexual Reality: A Virtual Sex World Reader" (Cleis Press, 1992) and "Susie Sexpert's Lesbian Sex World" (Cleis Press, 1990). In addition, she has published the series "Best American Erotica" annually since 1994. The 1997 edition of "Best American Erotica" will be available in September.

Bright joins James Carville, David Horowitz, Chitra Divakaruni, Anne Lamott, Camille Paglia, Ian Shoales, Courtney Weaver, Cintra Wilson, Jon Carroll and Sarah Vowell on the Salon columnist roster.
