Salon Media Group, Inc. Announces Launches Wire Service.

June 27, 2001 | SAN FRANCISCO, June 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Salon Media Group (Nasdaq: SALN), a leading Internet media company, today announced the launch of SalonWire, a subscription service featuring a daily text display of all Salon.com articles available for syndication.

Under the new business-to-business service, subscribing companies can access, via Web browser, full text of approximately 100 new Salon.com articles each week. Subscribers are granted permission to reprint Salon.com content and pay for stories on a per-article basis.

Other facets of the new service include:
-- Daily XML feeds of specific Salon.com sections and columns sent directly to participating subscriber sites
-- Special feeds of translated content for international clients
-- Customized Salon.com content on subject matter specifically requested by subscribers
-- Audio excerpts of leading self-help books, fiction, nonfiction and poetry from Salon Audio

Charter subscribers to SalonWire include the Schwab Foundation, "Catholic Digest," "Sydney's Child" and CMP Media LLC.
