N E W--S E R I E S

Eric Roberts heads the cast of C-16 (8 p.m. Sat., ABC), a drama about a Los Angeles-based FBI unit. The new Steven Bochco show nobody's talking about, Total Security (9 p.m. Sat., ABC), stars Lance Henriksen clone James Remar as a brooding ex-cop who runs a high-tech private security firm. James Belushi is the alleged comic relief. Debrah Farentino ("EZ Streets") is also along for the ride, but this show ain't going anywhere. The Wonderful World of Disney (7 p.m. Sun., ABC) comes back after being in mothballs for seven years. The first presentation: The network TV premiere of "Toy Story." Jenny (8:30 p.m. Sun., NBC) -- as in Jenny McCarthy -- is a sitcom about two aspiring, well, somethings, played by McCarthy and Heather Paige Kent, who get to move to Hollywood and party with show-biz folk after Jenny's actor dad (George Hamilton) dies and leaves her his bachelor pad.


S E R I E S

Sabrina the Teenage Witch (8 p.m. Fri., ABC) kicks off its new season. As does Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (8 p.m. Sat., CBS) and Early Edition (9 p.m. Sat., CBS). Sylvester Stallone hosts the season premiere of Saturday Night Live (11:30 p.m. Sat., NBC), with music from Jamiroquai. Dateline NBC (7 p.m. Sun., NBC) has a report on the El Niño weather phenomenon. The Simpsons (8 p.m. Sun., Fox) does its version of the "Martin Guerre"/"Sommersby" story, with Principal Skinner accused of having assumed the identity of a POW during the Vietnam war. Martin Sheen is the guest voice. And Touched by an Angel (8 p.m. Sun., CBS) comes back for another season.


S P O R T S

Baseball: Braves at Mets (7:30 p.m. Fri., 4:05 Sat., 1:35 Sun., TBS). A Friday Night Baseball double-header (7:30 p.m. Fri., ESPN) will air with teams yet to be determined. The teams for ESPN's Sunday game (7:30 p.m.) are also still to be determined.

Football: Broncos at Falcons, or regional action (1 p.m. Sun., NBC); Packers at Lions, or regional game (1 p.m. Sun., Fox); Bears at Cowboys, or regional game (4 p.m. Sun., Fox); Eagles at Vikings (8 p.m. Sun., TNT).


S P E C I A L S

National Geographic's The Sonoran Desert: A Violent Eden (8 p.m. Sat., NBC) explores the plant and animal life of the desert that covers parts of California, Arizona and Mexico. The new cable movie Gold Coast (8 p.m. Sun., Showtime) is based on Elmore Leonard's darkly funny page-turner about a con man with a good heart (David Caruso) who helps mob widow Marg Helgenberger out of a jam. The new TV movie Cloned (9 p.m. Sun., NBC) stars Elizabeth Perkins and Bradley Whitford as grieving parents who are offered the chance to clone their dead son. Maureen McCormick -- yes, Marcia Brady -- has the title role in the new TV movie Get to the Heart: The Barbara Mandrell Story (9 p.m. Sun., CBS), about the life and career of the country music star.
