Obama tears up when thanking campaign staff

President Obama got very emotional when thanking his campaign staff on Wednesday. "Even before last night's results," he said, "I felt that the work that I had done in running for office had come full circle. Because what you guys have done means that the work that I'm doing is important. And I'm really proud of that. I'm really proud of all of you."

With the 2012 election now down to its last day, President Obama has been pulling in major star power to urge Americans to get out and vote. According to the AP, 181 celebrities, including prominent actors, musicians, authors, athletes and politicians, "are being deployed to carry his message to television and radio in the waning days of the campaign." Even the Obama campaign has capitalized on Romney's "Big Bird" comment during last week's presidential debate, coming out today with an ad depicting Big Bird as a corrupt business executive. “Mitt Romney knows it isn’t Wall Street you need to worry about, it’s Sesame Street," says the narrator in a foreboding tone.

But the real Big Bird isn't amused. The Sesame Workshop released the following statement in response to the character's appearance in any type of campaign ad:

Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads and, as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down.
