Bring a gun to this Virginia pizza shop and you’ll get a discount

Jay Laze, owner of All Around Pizzas and Deli, is offering customers a unique discount at his Virginia Beach shop: Bring your gun in and get a 15 percent discount on your order.

Don't have your guns blazing, so to speak? Not to worry, the offer extends to those who can flash their concealed weapons permit.

According to Laze, it's a limited time offer but since the response has been so "overwhelming," he may make it permanent.

According to Fox News, Laze says 80 percent of his customers have brought guns into the pizza shop since he introduced the deal -- one even came in with an AK-47.

Other offers from the pizza shop include a twice-monthly meeting called "Liberty on the Rocks" where customers are encouraged to come, socialize, discuss, promote and "apply" the "ideas of liberty."

Alcohol consumption, pizza and firearms. What could possibly go wrong?

Pizza Hut perfume now exists

Taking a cue from Internet nerd culture, Canada's Pizza Hut has launched a marketing campaign based on a joke from its Facebook page: the creation of Pizza Hut perfume. The joke turned into a reality when the food chain's advertising agency thought it would be a great way to commemorate its milestone of reaching 100,000 Facebook fans.

But sadly, Eau de Pizza Hut, a scent "boasting top notes of freshly baked, hand-tossed dough," will only be shipped to a few of said fans. "For now, we've only produced 110 bottles of Eau de Pizza Hut," said Beverley D'Cruz, marketing and product development director for Pizza Hut Canada. "But who knows what the future has in store," she added.

Until then, the rest of us will have to smell like Pizza Hut pizza the old-fashioned way.

Sad news this week for all American Papa John's fans, from those too exhausted by daily drudging for subsistence wages to attempt to find something better to stick in their mouths at the end of the day than a dirt-cheap sugar and starch-delivery mechanism to those who are simply drunk when one of the commercials comes on: Unless we repeal Obamacare, Papa John's founder and mascot John "Papa John" Schnatter is going to raise the price of his wares.

He said as much in a conference call last week: "Our best estimate is that the Obamacare will cost 11 to 14 cents per pizza, or 15 to 20 cents per order from a corporate basis," Schnatter said, while robotically tossing a football and sort of cringing in an odd approximation of a casual smile.
