Cissy Houston opens up about Whitney Houston’s death on “Today” show

Although the world mourned the death of singer Whitney Houston last year, perhaps no one is in more pain than her mother, Cissy Houston, who has come out with a book called "Remembering Whitney." The memoir offers an intimate view of her daughter and their supposedly troubled relationship; Houston opened up about her grief on the "Today" show this morning, admitting that as a mother she wonders how she could have helped the troubled singer. But she also said that her daughter chose her own path. "Everybody's responsible for their own actions, up to a point," she said. Watch the emotional interview below:

Family has identified Jenni Rivera’s remains

MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) -- A state official says Jenni Rivera's family has identified the remains of the Mexican-American music star killed in plane crash.

Nuevo Leon state security spokesman Jorge Domene said DNA tests are still pending. The singer's remains will be given to the family once the tests are completed in coming days.

Officials said earlier that two state police officers had been arrested on suspicion of stealing unspecified items from the scene of the plane crash that killed Rivera.

The Nuevo Leon state government says authorities found images of the scene on the smartphone of one of the officers, who is 23, while trying to determine now the Mexican media got photographs of the secured site, including images of body parts and personal documents.

James Franco releases a music video

The world's second best blogger is a singer, too. James Franco's band, Daddy, has released "Can't Say Goodbye," the third video released from their EP, which came out in September. Franco tells MTV that the song is about the death of his father:

Cee Lo Green and the Muppets release music video for “All I Need Is Love”

R&B singer Cee Lo Green has released the music video for "All I Need Is Love," his Christmas spectacular featuring the Muppets. Green, a Muppets fan, will also perform "Bein' Green" with Kermit the Frog on tomorrow night's "Voice."

"Performing 'Bein’ Green' with Kermit the Frog has been an idea and dream of mine for years now and it will definitely remain on the top of my most memorable collaborations!” said Green. “I'm honored to share another magical, musical moment with The Muppets." The Muppets will also introduce "Lo-Co," a character who resembles Green.

Fiona Apple arrested for hash possession

Police arrested singer Fiona Apple after finding marijuana and hashish, a stronger form of marijuana, on her tour bus in Sierra Blanca, Texas. The singer is currently being held in Hudspeth County Jail, about 500 miles from Austin City Limits Live where she has a concert tonight. Apple is on tour promoting her new (and awesome) album, "The Idler Wheel..."
