Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, is giving away a fre Bushmaster AR-15 rifle, which he wants you to grab "before Obama does."

Stockman tweeted on Wednesday:

"Enter the drawing to win a FREE Bushmaster AR-15 rifle, almost impossible to find in stores and the number one firearm on the gun banners' wish list!" Stockman writes on his website. "Winner drawn July 4, 2013."

Stockman, who threatened to file for impeachment if President Obama used executive orders to implement gun control, has frequently used his Twitter feed as a platform for his staunchly conservative positions:

Steve Stockman demands Wolf Blitzer apologize

Wolf Blitzer was swiftly attacked on Monday for suggesting that there could be a link between the attacks in Boston and Patriots' Day, which many on Twitter, Steve Stockman included, assumed meant that he was linking the attacks to Tea Party groups.

Blitzer did not, in fact, mention the Tea Party, but said: “One intriguing notion, one intriguing thought here, and I’m curious, Mike, and I’ll ask Matt to weigh in as well. It is a state holiday, in addition to the Boston Marathon. It is a state holiday in Massachusetts today called Patriots' Day, and who knows if that has anything at all to deal — to do with these, these twin explosions.”

Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, demanded on Monday that Blitzer apologize, picking up on the false narrative that Blitzer's comments had politicized the attack:

Aggressively conservative Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, tweeted that conservatives should "crush liberalism" in order to honor former British P.M. Margaret Thatcher, who died on Monday.

Texas Rep. Steve Stockman is quickly filling the vacuum left in Congress by the departure or silencing of other bomb-throwing Tea Partyers like Allen West. Stockman was the guy who invited Ted Nugent to the State of the Union address (he had to vow ahead of time that he wouldn't interrupt the speech); he's introduced legislation to prohibit schools from instituting "gun free zones" in the wake of Sandy Hook; he's threatened to impeach Obama over gun control; he's compared Barack Obama to Saddam Hussein; he's dissed transgender people; he's mocked a fellow congresswoman's sartorial choices, etc., etc.

Texas GOPer threatens impeachment over executive action on guns

If President Obama uses an executive order to pass gun control measures, a Texas Republican says he could file articles of impeachment.

Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, called a potential executive action "an unconstitutional and unconscionable attack on the very founding principles of this republic," after the president said in a press conference that there are a number of steps he can take through executive action to implement gun control, should Congress fail to act.

“The White House’s recent announcement they will use executive orders and executive actions to infringe on our constitutionally-protected right to keep and bear arms is an unconstitutional and unconscionable attack on the very founding principles of this republic,” Stockman said in the statement. “I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment.”
