Police say country musician Doug Stone faces domestic battery charges after officers allegedly found him holding his son in a chinlock during a fight at a Florida resort.
Maj. David Humphreys of the Panama City Beach Police Department says officers were called Thursday to a condominium at the Grand Panama Beach Resort to break up a fight between the 52-year-old Stone and his 21-year-old son. Humphreys says the son's face was bloody and that Stone had him on the ground in a chinlock when officers arrived.
Stone had numerous country hits in the 1990s, including "I'd be Better Off in a Pine Box," "In a Different Light" and "Why Didn't I Think of That."
Lance Cowan, a spokesman for Stone, called the incident a family matter and said Stone had no immediate comment.
