Jun 19th, 2009 | MUIR BEACH, Calif. -- Officials are trying to curb lewd conduct at a longtime nude beach north of San Francisco after hearing complaints from a group of local residents.
Marin County plans to put up signs warning sunbathers against sexually explicit behavior at Little Beach, situated in a Muir Beach cove just north of the main beach.
The signs will advise people on how to report violations to authorities.
At a community meeting Tuesday, Muir Beach resident Laura Pandapas complained that her neighbor saw a nude sunbather pleasuring himself on the clothing-optional beach.
Residents who complained say they are satisfied with the warning signs for now, but could seek to end nude sunbathing at Muir Beach if the signs don't work.
