Salon editor Joan Walsh has been on TV so much lately, we’re contemplating changing the name of this site to “Video Joan.” Naturally we think she does a great job of discussing Salon’s breaking news story on George Allen with “Hardball’s” Chris Matthews, but then, we’re a little partial. Mostly, we wouldn’t mind changing that snarling dog icon (above) to a little icon of Walsh, baring her razor-sharp teeth. Go, boss lady, go!

A whole new world!

The old “I’ve never met a gay person” routine usually plays so badly on TV. But Mary and David, a particularly open-minded couple from Kentucky, somehow make it seem charming. You also have to admire the excellent editing by the team at “The Amazing Race,” splicing together the captivated country folk with priceless shots of the gay team, doing a peppy little cheer.
