The creators call it “The Title Screen of Every Major Motion Picture in 4 Minutes,” which pretty much speaks for itself. But let us know if you can think of a title missing from this dazzling compilation — or if you know anything about the deranged soul who actually created this video.

This short clip is from a children’s instructional video on American Sign Language. Though we assume its intentions are nothing but wholesome, we can’t help but think that the oddly frightening, ambiguously aged “Mimic the Monkey” (billed as the “star” of the video) will do nothing but give toddlers nightmares for years. If you disagree, and wish to educate your young tot, the full-length video is available for purchase here.

Yesterday morning, Katie Couric reported from Milan, Italy, for the start of NBC’s Olympics coverage, and Matt Drudge suggested that her visit was off to a particularly messy start. As we brace for President Bush’s sixth State of the Union address this evening (check back later for video highlights) as well as the fallout from the confirmation of Samuel Alito, we’d like to remind you that not all is wrong with the world: There’s still David Hasselhoff. Making the rounds is this 2002 music video of the Baywatch star singing “Hooked on a Feeling,” complete with angels, fish-biting (not a euphemism), flying and, of course, weiner dogs.

(If you have a problem with the version below, you can also watch it here.)
