Haaretz is reporting on a speech that Sarah Palin was supposed to deliver in Dag Hammarskjold Plaza today in protest of the United Nations appearance of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but didn’t. Seems her appearance was scuttled because of “a flap between protest organizers and Hillary Clinton, who had also been scheduled to speak. Clinton aides were quoted as saying that they had been 'blindsided' by the decision to invite Palin, which they called a partisan move. In the ensuing controversy, Clinton withdrew her participation, and Palin's invitation was rescinded.”
Excerpts suggest that the intended electoral targets of Palin’s rhetoric were women and Jews, with some content also thrown in for the John Hagee-inspired, Rapture-ready crowd:
