White House denies agreement to talk one-on-one with Iran

"It's not true that the United States and Iran have agreed to one-on-one talks or any meeting after the American elections," said National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor Saturday following the publication of a New York Times article suggesting the White House had agreed to such a meeting.

According to the AP, Vietor said there are continued efforts being made by the the U.N. Security Council and Germany  (the "P5+1") to get Iran to the negotiating table. "We continue to work with the P5+1 on a diplomatic solution and have said from the outset that we would be prepared to meet bilaterally," said Vietor.
